Good to hear, Sarah :) Good luck with the diagnosis. Sometimes it takes a lonnnnnnnng time. I agree with the helping. Takes my mind off of myself.

Sorry to hear that, Herrad. I'm from the opinion that even if it's a pharmaceutical company, they are still creating drugs to help MSers, and I've had a great deal of help from my disease-modifying med. Now I know they're not for everyone, but we do see a lot of slowing of disease in individuals who take them, particularly in RRMS. Tysabri as well. We're not all going to agree on every issue about insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies, but I DO support what Serono is trying to accomplish, and if a bigger entity, which I agree with, can give the issue better exposure then I'm all for it. :)

Of course I'll still be writing here, 'cause this is my baby and I get to use "commercialism" to raise money to donate to MS research. Yay!

Hope ya keep reading, Herrad, even with a difference of opinions. I think this is what makes the world go round.

XOXO

Thank you for sharing. :) It's looking like I'm on my way to a MS Diagnosis so I'm trying to learn all I can and help wherever I'm needed.

Hi Jen,
I am surprised at you and Kimberly and Lisa working with a pharma company.
Would not be my choice.
I am afraid I do not like the new website at all, the music is irritating and detracts.
Feel all of you lose intergity by joining a pharma company.
Will you still be writing here, hope so, as I will not be visiting your new site.
Good l uck.
Love,
Herrad

Awesome, Diane. I can't wait to read it! I've done some volunteering with the MS Society's walking and biking events, but I feel the need to get a little more involved. We'll see.... :)

You two are super and I love the volunteer-matching sites that are around. Wish I had that when I was a kid. I am working on some MS something to raise money here at my assisted living home. The seniors don't have much money, but hey. They know very little about MS. A book comes out (can be pre-ordered at Amazon) Dec.1 with one of my mini stories in it. I'll push that soon.

Oooooooh-- I like the idea of interviewing people. What a good concept, and there are so many peeps right here in blogland. It would be nice to see more profiles of MSers in conjunction with the MS Society..... :)

I actually contacted my chapter a few days ago (before I saw this site) and a rep called me yesterday to see if I'd like to do in-office regular volunteering. I said I'm looking to get out more, and I certainly want to support my own cause so this would be great. Ironically I read about this chapter's need for several in-office volunteers today. Life is funny.

Let me know if you do that volunteer work, Lisa. That would be awesome!

This is very useful information. I discovered that my local chapter is looking for a volunteer biographer to interview people impacted by MS, to collect their profiles, and organize the vignettes in creative ways.

Goodness, I know of several MSers who would be great to profile. Looks like they want to collect the stories for use in marketing and advocacy.

Thanks for posting this Jen.
