I love this song too. I vividly remember being a kid and hearing about his murder on the news. It was a frigid night in December, 1980. I don’t know why anyone would want to kill him, just like I don’t understand why terrorists want to kill those who don’t adhere to their religion. And yet, I feel we don’t have any business being in Iraq, either. The song is a tribute to what the world can be (in terms of ideology), if only people will wake up and see.
